Library in a Jar

This painting is one of my favorite commissions to date. A couple of bears relaxing in their own library terrarium. My love for miniature worlds really shines through this piece and I’m happy that I’ve had the opportunity to paint it. As part of the commission, this painting has been painting during a live stream for the buyer’s viewing pleasure.

Fashion Victim

This artwork has been inspired by Marie Antoinette and the often crazy 18th century fashion. I wanted to paint something that included live animals in a fashion piece ever since I’ve read articles of similar practices when high society ladies would adorn their hair with lice birds, for example. In this case, our cute fashionista decided to use a toy airplane as a centerpiece of her hairstyle and since every plane needs a pilot, there are some professional mice occupying that spot. Needless to say, the partner of this fashionista needs to have nerves of steel! This piece was selected to be a part of the 52-week Illustration Challenge exhibition that took place in March 2015 in Perth, Australia. The exhibition featured one carefully selected piece from each of the 52 themes in 2014.

Flower Fairy

This piece is my expression of love for soft pastel colors, delicate flowers and magical creatures. I really like to paint unrealistic hair adorned by plants and stones and this art is a perfect example of that. I really wanted to use teal and pink, as these colors were not only very popular at the time of painting, but I also personally adore them and I would love to surround myself with them. However, because of my complexion, these colors don’t fit me, and so creating an art piece is a perfect alternative. I’ve created this artwork during a series of live streams in front of an audience.

The Magical Shoppe

This illustration is the first illustration belonging to a story of a magical shoppe hidden deep within the forest. Despite its location, the shoppe is very popular, as it sells curious goods from distant places never seen by common folk. This illustration is one of my most beloved projects.

Mulled Wine

This painting started as an idea of an “undercover” Christmas illustration. I really loved the warm tones of mulled wine and honey and so I’ve envisioned a scene in which the two characters present in a lot of my other illustrations are preparing mulled wine for the Winter Festivities. There is a lot of detail in this illustration, as I wanted to create an illusion of a fantasy pantry with lots of interesting preserves inside the jars. If you would like to see the process behind this piece, watch this video.
